Return-It is using CountAIner, an AI-powered counting machine, to help make container returns faster and more efficient for Victorians.
Following its successful launch at our Dandenong South Fast Counting Depot, a second CountAIner is now operating at our Mulgrave Fast Counting Depot.
So, what is CountAIner?
CountAIner uses artificial intelligence to quickly identify and count eligible drink containers.
It can count up to 1,200 containers in just one minute, helping our teams process large volumes of containers faster and reduce waiting times for customers.
The technology has been developed over three years in collaboration with Machine X and has analysed more than 80 million images of containers to improve its accuracy in different conditions.
